WATER SAFETY is a vital part of your swimming experience. Classes are closely supervised from the deck by a highly trained and certified Aquatic Director. Their main objective is to ensure safety at the pool, quality of the program, and to answer any question you may have. Our small teacher to student ratios also ensure very close attention is maintained toward every participant (most accidents involving swimming occur either on the wet pool decks or in diving accidents). All children must be chaperoned by a parent or a guardian.

Following are some important rules which children should learn and plan for. For more information on water safety, you can access the National Swim School Association's water safety article.

Take swim lessons
Never swim alone
Swim only where there is qualified supervison. A supervisor should know:

a) CPR
b) First Aid
c) Rescue procedures
d) Have a cordless phone poolside

Never leave toys in or around the pool when not in use
Swim in pools where the water is clear and you can see the drain
Follow pool rules:
a) No glass containers
b) Dive only in designated areas
c) No running
d) No eating or chewing gum while swimming
e) Wear a swim suit

Use only Coast Guard approved floatation devices while boating and fishing. Don't substitute inflatable toys for adult supervision

If someone is in trouble, find something that will float to throw or reach out to the person... if nothing is around, yell while running for help

Evacuate pool and deck at first signs of thunder or lightning

Use layered protection:

a) Fences surrounding pool
b) Self latching gates
c) Dead bolts on door leading to the pool
d) Weight bearing pool covers
